I moved to Throggs Neck two years ago. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood with a lot of nice park space. It is serene. With the NYC Ferry opening a stop at Ferry Point Park, the neighborhood has become much more accessible to the city and I enjoy cycling to commute.
I do wish there were more bike lanes and alternate transportation infrastructure. To truly enjoy life here you must drive a vehicle.

I love Throggs Neck! It’s peaceful and quiet. It’s also spacey and it’s also where my partner taught me to drive. Everyone kind of know each other and my neighbors are very kind
The nearest subway station is 20-30 minutes away by bus which is a con for me

Throggs Neck (long time locals spell it with two g's, as it once was spelt) is a truly unique neighborhood in NYC. It rests on the Long Island Sound/part of the East River, giving it some beautiful views of the water, the Whitestone Bridge, the Throggs Neck bridge, and of Manhattan! A LOT of nearby parks and natural areas that you would not imagine having access to living in the Bronx: Pelham Bay Park, Ferry Point Park, Orchard Beach and the surrounding islands that are great for hiking and spotting wildlife. Lots of transportation options to get to Manhattan, which makes for a lot of potential jobs across the boroughs. The ever-worsening city traffic is a big downside if you plan to drive longer distances to work (like Long Island, Westchester, other boroughs, etc). Definitely recommend visiting Throggs Neck before knocking it off your list of potentials- you have to see it to understand how unique it is to the rest of the metro area.
