How to make homemade Italian dressing

Using a jar or a dressing bottle, add the olive oil, vinegar, mustard, Italian seasoning, and a dash of salt and pepper. Close the jar with a lid and give it a good shake to blend the ingredients together. Use the dressing on your favorite salads and recipes.

White wine vinegar or red wine vinegar

Italian salad dressing is made with red wine vinegar rather than white vinegar. White wine vinegar is similar to red wine vinegar yet has a mellow flavor and softer tang. It is perfect for most condiments and classic dressings. Red wine vinegar is a fermented wine byproduct with a unique twist to its taste. It is sharp in flavor and we like to use it for the best Italian dressing flavor.

How long do you store homemade Italian dressing? Store any leftover salad dressing in a sealed jar in the refrigerator. It will last for up to 1 week for the best quality and flavor.
